About The Odem Bands

The Odem Bands are an integral part of the Odem-Edroy ISD Community. Odem is located in Texas about five miles east of Corpus Christi. With an average population of 60% of the Odem Junior High School students and 33% of the Odem High School students being involved in the program they make a huge impact upon the community with their many performances.

The Odem Bands have a tradition of success in marching, concert, and individual musicianship that we continue to grow each year. The Spirit of OHS has successfully advanced to the UIL Texas State Marching Contest three times – in 2013, 2017, and 2019! In 2019 the Odem HS Wind Ensemble was named State Finalists in the TMEA Honor Band Competition. They have also been State Finalists in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series Competition in 2017, 2018, and 2019

The Odem JH Symphonic Winds earned the title of State Champion (Concert Selection) in 2015, and Runner-Up (Concert March) at the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series Competition in 2014 – and is a past TMEA State Honor Band Semi-Finalist in 2012. Together the OJH and OHS Bands strive to set the example for others to follow!

In June of 2016 the Odem High School Band performed a well received performance at Carnegie Hall as part of DCINY’s Concert Series. They were selected for this prestigious honor following an audition CD sent in the summer of 2014.

Between 2015-2020 Odem-Edroy ISD has been named one of the NAMM Foundation’s Best Communities in Education recipients for six consecutive years!
