About Mr. Williams

Mr. Nathan Williams is the Odem Junior High Band Director and the Assistant Director for Odem High School.

 

He was born and raised in Woodville, Ohio.  He is a graduate of Woodmore High School in 2002 and Bowling Green State University in 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education.  Mr. Williams is currently finishing his thesis for his Masters Degree in Music Education for Heidelberg University.

Mr. Williams is in his tenth year of teaching and his fourth as the Junior High Director of Bands at Odem-Edroy-Edroy ISD.  In his three years at Odem-Edroy Junior High, the Symphonic Winds earned Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest each year.  The Symphonic Winds also were State Champions in the Concert Category of the Outstanding Performance Series Competition in 2015 and a State Finalist in the Concert Category in 2016.  He spent the first six years of his career as the Director of Bands at Holgate Local Schools in Holgate, Ohio.  His Marching Band at Holgate received awards for Best Percussion, Best Colorguard, Best Music, Best General Effect, and Best in Class C at OMEA Adjudicated Events.  His Marching Bands have performed in Orlando, Washington DC, Ohio State University, and Bowling Green State University.  Mr. Williams Junior High ensembles were the first in school history to earn Superior ratings at Concert Band Contest and traveled throughout Ohio to perform in festivals and contests.  As the only band director in the district, he had over 70% of the Junior High student body in the program.  He was also the first director to take students to Solo and Ensemble contest with numerous events earning Superior Ratings.

Mr. Williams resides in Odem with his wife Crystal of 11 years and three children, Shawn (8), Daniel (4), and Mackenzie (3).
