Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 2/27/2023
Last week we had a large number of Odem students who participated in the UIL Region Solo and Ensemble Contest in Robstown. There we saw a fantastic set of results for our students, including 7 Odem JH Soloist Medalists, 6 Odem JH Ensemble Medalists, 1 Odem HS Bronze Solo Medalist, 6 Odem HS Gold Soloist Medalists, and 15 Odem HS Gold Ensemble Medalists! Sixteen of our students at Odem HS advanced to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest which will be held in Pflugerville on May 28th-29th. This week will be a light one for the band program, even as our students are ramping up tournaments and contests in other activities. Please help remind students to make sure they are taking care of their academics! We will have our April 22nd trip to San Antonio with the Odem JH Symphonic Winds and Odem HS Wind Ensemble which will be bound by Eligibility rules, as well as Windi and Jazzi for the HS Band Students in May. Those will both be based on this fifth six-weeks we have just begun!
Windi and Jazzi tickets are on sale now! Our annual Dinner/Concert Fundraiser will be held on May 6th at 5:30pm in the Odem HS Cafetorium. This year’s theme is ‘Comedy Tonight,’ and will feature tributes to the slapstick eras of musical comedy! Please keep an eye out for that information this week!
