Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 9/22/2025
This week is a big week for the Odem Bands, as we host our 4th Annual Owl Marching Invitational! The OMI has become one of our best fundraisers for the year, but in order for it to be successful we need an army of parent and adult volunteers! Junior high band parents/alumni/community members are also welcome and encouraged to get involved!
We will have our Volunteer meeting at 2:30 pm in the HS Cafetorium, and our students will perform in exhibition at the end of the competing bands at 10:15 pm. I estimate we will have finished awards and clean-up sometime after 11pm.

As a note, this week is the end of the six weeks. We encourage students to ensure they are passing! No Pass/No Play applies to both marching band students and our 7th/8th Grade students for pep rallies and sports alike. The district has a system where parents may view their students’ grades, and we encourage both parents and students to monitor that. It’s imperative that students make up any work they miss if they are absent from school!
We do have an early release from school on Friday, and need students at the band hall by 2:30 pm for the game. We will stop for food on the way to the game in Kingsville. I estimate we will return to school about 12:30 pm based on our recent games ending time. As soon as we start our return I will have students contact parents to let them know our arrival time. We do ask that you ensure rides are there when we return, as it will be a long day on Saturday!
Just an early reminder, we do have rehearsal next Monday, and it will be extended by an hour per a new allowance from UIL this year on days without instruction. We’ll begin at 5:30 pm and continue until 8:30 pm that night.
2026 Florida Trip
We ask that parents/students please check in on their trip accounts this week. This website link https://bobrogerstravel.grcoll.co/v2/go/odem26 should let you access the site. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know! We are tentatively scheduling a meeting for November 11th at 7pm for updates on the trip that we’ll need the students and a parent to attend. We’ll confirm that as we get closer to the date.
