Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 9/29/2025
We want to begin by thanking all of the volunteers and students for helping make the Owl Marching Invitational run smoothly for all of the participants! We had a lot of positive feedback from those who attended!
This week, we will have a home game versus Taft. We need an adult for the following students to please help from 6:30 pm through halftime (Von, Avyn, Eva, Milton, Shawn) and then from halftime to the end (JJ, Macy, Arin, Kaiya, and Olivia R.). If you cannot provide an adult volunteer, please contact Valerie Pena or Belinda Contreras regarding the slot as soon as possible. This will be a very busy week with Little Owls night, and we need to ensure we have enough volunteers. Additionally, any junior high band parents who can help out this week would be greatly appreciated.
Saturday will be our first competition that we will travel to. Students need to be at the stadium for our walkthrough at 6:30 am on Saturday. (That’s AT the stadium, ready to warm-up, please. They should probably be dropped off by 6:20 am.) Band Hall will open at 5:45 am for drop-off that day. We will have breakfast for the students before we leave.
We perform at 12:30 pm at Davenport HS in San Antonio as part of the US Bands Competition. Tickets are available here: https://bluedevils.org/events/index.php?eventID=12076&programID=36 Tickets bought in advance are $19/adult, $14 for students/seniors/military, and children 10 and under are free. No cash is accepted for tickets. If you purchase the day of, those tickets do increase in price another $5/ticket, so I highly recommend purchasing them no later than Friday if you plan to attend. It appears they are also charging $5 for parking from what I’m seeing on their site.
The contest does have a finals round in the evening; it is an overall event with many large schools there. If we do advance, we’ll stay and perform; but if we don’t, we’ll feed the students dinner and return home. Finals would begin at 7 pm, and would put us back after midnight. If we leave after dinner, that will be a return around 9:30 pm. Students should not be picked up from the contest site until after we have had awards and determined if we have advanced.
The rest of the season we have planned will be closer to home, with Robstown the next weekend, Beeville the following, hosting the 2A Area contest, and then back to Beeville. Please help us ensure students are at all of the remaining rehearsals and events through the season so we can be as successful as possible!
2026 Florida Trip

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know! We are tentatively scheduling a meeting for November 11th at 7pm for updates on the trip that we’ll need the students and a parent to attend. We’ll confirm that as we get closer to the date.
