Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 5/11/2026
This week marks our final week of school for students of the 2025-2026 School Year! We have a few events still this week to be aware of, though! First, tomorrow at 6:30 pm, we will recognize All-Region, Area, State, and UIL Solo and Ensemble Medalists at the monthly school board meeting. We ask that students who earned those honors please be at the JH Library by 6:25 pm. We are scheduled early in the meeting so we can get to the next event.
Tomorrow night at 7:30 pm, then we will have our Final Mandatory Student/Parent Trip Meeting for Florida! All students and a parent/guardian must be present for this meeting as we go over final information for our upcoming trip in just three more weeks! Please make sure you and your student are in attendance if they are traveling with us!
Finally, on Friday, we will celebrate our graduating seniors with the OEISD Graduation Ceremony. All 9th-11th-grade band students and JH Symphonic Winds Students should arrive at the HS Band Hall by 5 pm. We will have a quick run-through of music, finish setting up the band at the field, and then have pizza for students. The band will begin pre-ceremony music about 7:20 pm, and play through the graduates being seated and the ceremony. Once we conclude the ceremony, we ask students to help for about 10 minutes to move our equipment to our trailer before moving to greet the graduates. Students should be ready to be picked up around 9:20-9:30 pm.
Next week, we were scheduled to have our UIL State Send-Off Recital on Monday, but due to UIL Academics, we are changing it to Tuesday evening at 6 pm. We will have our monthly booster meeting afterward at 7:15 pm that night (moved from this week). We will depart for UIL State Solo and Ensemble that Friday/Saturday. May 22nd – 23rd.

2026 Florida Trip
Please do remember we’ll have our final trip meeting tomorrow at 7:30 pm. All travelers and a parent/guardian must attend this meeting! Please bring insurance cards/information to the meeting. As we approach the date, just a reminder that any student age 18 and older must have a valid state ID that’s ‘Real ID’ compliant to fly.
We will go over final trip details, expected costs, luggage, etc., at that meeting. It’s imperative we have students and a parent there that night! If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know!
