Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 9/21/2026
We began our season with HS Band back in July, with us having completed our 9th full week with the full band this past week. We appreciate the students showing up and working hard for our clinicians on Tuesday and Thursday, and now it’s time to start our competitive ‘Bandtober’ up! This weekend we will host our 5thAnnual Owl Marching Invitational at Owl Stadium! We have 14 bands, plus ours, who will perform for a great panel of judges on Saturday. If you haven’t signed up to volunteer for the marching contest, we ask that you please do so today! We still have a number of spots we need to fill! This week will be a return to Monday and Thursday evening rehearsals for the HS Band – no Tuesday practice. All students must attend those rehearsals. A reminder that they are graded. This week is also the end of the first six weeks. Students should make sure they have all work turned in and speak with any teachers they might have missing work. It’s imperative that we have everyone eligible!
This weekend begins our 7-week season, with marching contests each weekend. All students must attend these contests, as they are mandatory for the group. Each is a graded performance for them! We release our contest calendar in April at the latest each year to help prevent date conflicts for families. Next weekend we will be in Seguin on October 3rd. Students will need to be at the band hall early that morning, and we perform for prelims at 12:15 pm. If we place in the top 10 overall, there is a finals round in the evening. I will share more details about the schedule for that contest next weekend. We will have an afternoon rehearsal after school on October 2nd and then load our equipment so we don’t have to get to the band hall quite as early on Saturday morning. (4 pm – 6:00 pm)
We’re very proud of how the students have progressed this season so far, and we hope to see that momentum continue.
We also wish to congratulate the Odem JH Owlet Band on an outstanding first pep rally this past week! It’s been a great year with those students so far, too!
Owl Marching Invitational
On Saturday, we will host our 5th Annual Owl Marching Invitational. We need at least one parent/adult for every student to please sign up at this link for a role that day: https://tinyurl.com/26OdemVolunteerOMI . The slots on the site are the minimum we need to run the contest, but we’ll also have additional places to use help. I will post more about that when we fill those roles. This marching contest is incredibly important in helping to support the band program – please make plans to help out. We’ll have a volunteer meeting at 2:30 pm that day, and cleanup will likely finish up by 11:30 pm. The first band marches at 6:00 pm. Fees and Online Payments
For HS students and 7th/8th Grade Students, we need their band fees turned in at this time. We accept checks or money orders only in the band halls (no cash, please), but we can also now accept online payments via Debit/Credit Card. Please see the information below about setting up your Presto Account if you wish to pay with Debit/Credit Card. We’re finding it’s a bit of a process to get everyone onto the system, but it works well once we have all the steps in place!

If you don’t see it in your email, please check your spam folder and have your student log in to their OEISD email account, as it may have gone there. You can also join via our group/organization code, odemowls (it’s at the bottom of the page after you set up your Parent account). You may have an issue if we used your email address to create the student account; if so, and you have a second email address, you should be able to join that way.
