Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 10/5/2026
We begin this week by congratulating the members of The Spirit of OHS for earning third place in Class 3A at the Seguin Marching Festival on Saturday! They advanced to finals and placed 8th there as well! We received some valuable judges feedback that we’ll be implementing as we continue our final three weeks toward the Area Marching Contest!
This week we will be competing at the Robstown Crossroads Marching Contest. Students perform at 4:15 pm. We will need all of the students at the high school to do a run-through and prepare to depart at noon. We will do our best to return to the school then as soon as we can to allow for participation in at least some of the districts festivities that evening. We will not stay for awards because of that, but if anyone wants to attend on their own, those will occur at 10:45 pm.
The following weekend, on the 17th, we will have our UIL Region Marching Contest in Beeville. We received our performance time for that: 6:15 pm. I will provide more information next weekend on that event.
Just as a reminder from last week, we have a school holiday scheduled for the 19th – we will have a morning rehearsal with a guest clinician from 9 am to noon. Please plan for students to attend, as it will be one of our last chances to fix problems going into Area that weekend!
The most important part of students’ success the next few weeks comes down to attendance at all rehearsals – please help us make sure they are present!
This week’s game is at home versus Santa Rosa, parents/adult volunteers are needed from: AJ Contreras, Olivia Rocha, Joslyn Laurel, Alex Rodriguez, and Xzavier Perez (6:30 pm to halftime), and JJ Gomez, Serenity Nino/Zach Nino, Orion Velasquez, and Ralynn Salazar (8:00 pm through end of game). Please help ensure we have enough help to make the concession stand run smoothly this week! If you can’t help, please contact Mrs. Jesenia Ferguson to arrange another night. We are fully into ‘Bandtober’ now; it’s busy, but we believe it’s worth it in the end!
