Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 11/2/2026
We begin this week, by thanking all of the Parents and Students who made yesterday’s UIL 2A Area Marching Contest a success! There were many compliments given to us about how well the contest ran, and we believe our part in the contest represented Odem well!
This week will see the end of our marching season, with our final football game versus Falfurrias on Friday, and our final competition in the Alamodome at the Bands of America Super Regional Competition on Saturday. This will be an overnight trip for us to allow the students to have a chance of at least a few hours of sleep in a hotel before getting up early. Please see the notes below on check-in for the trip, as we know some students have medication that we need to have on hand for such a trip.
Tickets are available at TicketMaster.com for the event, or may be purchased at the gate. We do also have some field passes that would allow parents who help us with props and equipment to get in to see the show from the field and then return to watch the rest of prelims. Please contact us if you might be available and we can connect in the lot for that help!
One last note: we ask that any parents who wish to pick their students up from this competition please do so at the restaurant where we will be having dinner instead of at the Alamodome. The lot/distances at the Alamodome make it very difficult to do checkouts there without major delays in our experiences. We will share the restaurant location later this week for anyone who wishes to pick up students there.
This will be a busy week, but we hope it will be a fun one to conclude our marching season. The full band will complete their 16th Week of hard work for the year, and we look forward to their very best performance of the season on Saturday!
Just a few upcoming events to be aware of after that, on Wednesday, November 11th, we will perform with the HS Band for the annual Veteran’s Day Assembly – students do need their Concert Black clothes for that. Odem JH All-Region Auditions take place that weekend on November 14th.

Falfurrias Game/BOA Check-In
Students will need to arrive at school between 11:30 am and 12 pm: on Friday. If they have any medication, they need to turn that in to us upon arrival. Students should make sure that they pack clothes for overnight, band shirts/shorts for Saturday, toiletries, money for lunch at the mall, snacks at concessions, souvenir t-shirts/accessories at contest, rest stops, etc. Students should be careful about overpacking as we will not have a lot of extra space planned for luggage on this trip. A backpack or duffle bag should be plenty for the trip so that it can sit beside them.
Medications need to be turned into the band directors when students arrive. They need to be in their original containers, and they’ll need to be given the directions on when students need the medication to ensure everything is given according to schedule. Medication will be returned to students when we return home on Saturday night, or at checkout if a student is picked up from the restaurant Saturday evening.
