Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 12/1/2025
Welcome back from the break! We hope everyone had a chance to rest up before these next few weeks ramp back up! We’ll start this week on Tuesday with our monthly Booster Meeting in the HS Cafetorium at 6 pm. Please consider joining us for that, as we look towards needing additional volunteers in the future!
Saturday, we will be traveling with the HS Band students who are signed up for All-Region Auditions to Kingsville for their auditions. Students need to be at the Band Hall at 7 am on Saturday for our departure. They should bring some money for the snack bar and a possible stop on the way home. We should return to Odem with them by approximately 5 pm.
Sunday, the 7th, at 7 pm, The Corpus Christi Wind Symphony, a group Mr. Rash performs with (along with a couple of alumni and Mr. Kippy), will have a free holiday concert at Del Mar College’s Richardson Performance Hall. This concert would meet the requirements for an HS student seeking the Texas Music Scholar Award, and it would also be an excellent performance for all our students to see! The group has about four performances each season, and we’ll include information when performances approach.
That brings us to the next week, which is one of our busiest of the year! On Tuesday, the 9th will be the JH Winter Concert, Thursday, the 11th is the HS Winter Concert, and then Friday, the 12th, and Saturday, the 13th, are the All-Region Clinic/Concert days for JH and HS Region Band Members. The end of this semester is a sprint to the finish. Please keep in mind that students need to have their concert clothes for all of these performances! Information on the specifics is below.
Finally, passed out the information for the Annual Program Sponsorship Fundraiser before the break. The online form for donations is found here: https://tinyurl.com/25OdemBand Donations should be turned into the band halls no later than Friday to ensure we have all sponsors listed in the programs! Please contact us if you need additional info, letters, or forms. Remember, we only accept checks or money orders in the band halls, made out to OEISD, with ‘Memo: Band’.
Concert Attire
All groups from Grades 6th-12th have the same concert attire requirements.
Ladies: Black Blouse/Black Slacks/Dress Shoes (Blouses need to have some sort of sleeve that extends past the shoulder and should not be low cut)
Gentlemen: Black Long Sleeve Button-Down Shirt, Black Slacks, Black Dress Shoes (or HS Marching Band Shoes), Black Belt, and Black Socks.
