Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 3/23/2026:

We are going to have a packed couple of weeks here with the bands! First up, tomorrow, on Monday at 6 pm, we’ll have the HS Pre-UIL Concert in the HS Cafetorium. HS Students need to be in the band hall/stage, warming up at 5:30 pm. We’ll begin with the Symphonic Band before Wind Ensemble performs. The concert should conclude by 6:45 pm. The next evening, on Tuesday, will be the JH Pre-UIL Concert in the HS Cafetorium at 6:30 pm. JH students need to be in the high school band hall/stage for warm-up at 6:00 pm. We anticipate that the concert will conclude by 7:10 pm. 

At about 7:30 pm on Tuesday, we will then have our monthly Owl Band Booster Meeting, which we’ve moved to that evening. We’ll primarily discuss Windi and Jazzi at that meeting. If you’re available to help out, that’s a great time to get in on the discussion and help plan out decorating for the event and other prep that’s needed.

Next week, on April 1st and 2nd, we will have our two JH Bands and two HS Bands UIL Region Concert and Sight-Reading performances at Tuloso-Midway HS. The draft performance times are as follows:

Wednesday, April 1st:
Odem JH Concert Band: 9:25 am
Odem JH Symphonic Winds: 12:30 pm
Odem HS Symphonic Band: 7:30 pm 

Thursday, April 2nd:
Odem HS Wind Ensemble: 10:30 am

We will have full itineraries available for the event next week. We are working off of a draft schedule, so there is potential for minor shifting still. (We don’t expect any though)

It’s just a couple of weeks to Windi and Jazzi on the 18th, then our Spring Concerts for HS Bands and JH Symphonic Winds on April 27th, and JH Beginning Band and Concert Band on May 4th. Graduation will be on May 15th, and we do ask all JH Symphonic Winds members to please join the 9th-11th Grade students in performing for that event!

After that, State Solo and Ensemble, May 22nd – 23rd, will be our final event before we leave for our trip to Florida, with check-in on June 1st. Please note that we will have our final Trip Meeting, which all participating students and a parent/guardian MUST attend, on Monday, May 11th at 7 pm.

On Friday, students were provided with statements of accounts showing the fees still owed. We ask that you please ensure the band fees are paid this week! If there’s a financial concern, please contact the relevant band director – Mr. Williams for JH students, Mr. Rash for HS students. Any fees not paid or arrangements not made will be turned over to the offices as fines the following week. 

Finally, we are in the early stages of planning a 2028 Trip. For this we are seeking input on possible destinations. We had students complete a survey this week, and are looking for parents to also give their input. Windi and Jazzi ‘Storybook Escapes’

We are preparing for Windi and Jazzi on April 18th. Tickets are now on sale here: https://odemhsband.ludus.com/. The ticket covers entrance to the performance, Chicken Fried Chicken or Chopped Sirloin, Sides, Drink, and Dessert for $15-$25 depending on the seat in the Cafetorium. We encourage everyone to purchase tickets at least a week in advance to help us adequately plan the food order.

Also, we have assigned our students theme items to bring by section. We ask that every member of the group please bring one item valued at around $10 that fits the theme to make silent auction baskets. Please help us ensure we receive these items by Tuesday. Windi and Jazzi traditionally is a great fundraiser for us, and these baskets are a big part of that!

Flutes/Clarinets: Spa Basket (Candles, Bath soaps, etc.)
Alto and Tenor Saxes/F Horn/Bass Clarinet: Baking Basket (Baking Sheets, Cake mixes, cookbooks, cookie cutters, etc.)
Trumpets:  Outdoor BBQ (BBQ Cooking Utensils, Aprons, Sauces, Grill accessories, etc.)
Trombones/Euphoniums/Tubas: Movie Night (Movies on BluRay or DVD, Snacks, Popcorn tubs, etc.)
Percussion: Games Night Basket: Board Games/Card Games, snacks, etc.

Junior High Students: Gardening Basket (Seeds, Gardening tools, Gloves, etc.)

Additionally we are looking for businesses to donate items, tickets, gift cards, etc. If you would please ask anyone you know who might be in a position to donate those we would appreciate it!

2026 Florida Trip

We ask that parents/students please check in on their trip accounts this week. This website link https://bobrogerstravel.grcoll.co/v2/go/odem26  should let you access the site. All students must have the full amount by April, per the company. Please contact them for any questions on that. Please do remember we’ll have our final trip meeting on May 11th. All travelers and a parent/guardian must attend this meeting! We will have forms and other documents that need to be signed at this meeting!
