Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 8/11/2025

We’ve had a great four weeks of summer band and preparation with our students, and though it’s difficult to believe it, we’re already back to school this week! This means we’ll have some shifts in our schedule for the next two weeks leading up to Meet the Band next Wednesday, the 20th(7:30 pm). Once we get to the 25thwe’ll move to our typical rehearsal schedule. Please check the schedule below for times, as things will shift around for these first two weeks. 

For all of our JH students, we look forward to seeing them back this week! They’ll need their instruments on Thursday for our first day back of playing for 7th/8th Graders. 6th Graders who have instruments that were ordered through Music and the Arts at the drive. We’ll host another drive for students that weren’t able to come in the spring from 4:30-7pm on Wednesday the 20th. Please know that while our preference is that students have their own instruments, should there be a financial concern we will do our absolute best to accommodate students with a school instrument if needed. Certain instruments like F Horn, Euphonium, and Tuba are always provided due to costs and students just need mouthpieces/books/carekits then. Mr. Williams will cover this in detail this week in class. Please contact him williamsn@oeisd.org if you have questions about junior high items!

High School Band Fees should be paid at this time. Fees for Freshmen (or anyone who needs shoes) are $135, and Upperclassmen (who don’t need shoes) are $90. This is a slight increase over last year to handle price increases in supplies. Each student is provided with their water jug, flip folder/lyres, band shirt, band shorts, and a few other small items with this fee. Fees should be paid to OEISD via check or money order only. If you need additional time, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me to make arrangements. Guard fees are handled separately, and they do not need to pay this fee.

2026 Florida Trip

We can still add students to the Florida Trip for another week or so! Incoming 9th-12th-grade band students, or JH Front ensemble members, are eligible to travel on this trip, and we can still add students.

Payment options and forms are handled through their website. I encourage students to attend this trip; it will be a fantastic experience for them, and it is only really possible for most of them as a group like this!
