Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 8/18/2025
It was good to see our students all back at school this past week! It was a busy three days, but lots of good things already apparent with our students this year! This week is our final week without a football game on our schedule for a while, but we do have a couple of events on Wednesday. The first is for our 6th Graders or anyone who needs to order supplies/instruments, we’ll have a follow up band drive at the JH Band Hall from 4pm-7pm. If an instrument was previously setup at the spring drive, you don’t need to come again. We recommend parents come and take care of things then if they haven’t. This event is being hosted with the Music and the Arts company. If you would like alternative suggestions/options please do let us know.
Students should have their instruments ordered and in by the following week at the absolute latest. We plan to begin with instruments on the 27th or so. If there is a financial concern that is preventing you from purchasing an instrument, please contact Mr. Williams. As a core philosophy we will never let money be the reason a student is not in band. We’ll accommodate them in other ways if you contact us, and also may have some other suggestions/resources available.
Once that event ends, we’ll also be hosting our annual ‘Meet the Band’ event with the HS Band at 7:30 pm at Owl Stadium. You’ll be able to get a sneak preview of our 2025 Marching Show, ‘Follow the Wisps.’
High School Band Fees should be paid at this time. Fees for Freshmen (or anyone who needs shoes) are $135, and Upperclassmen (who don’t need shoes) are $90. This is a slight increase over last year to handle price increases in supplies. Each student is provided with their water jug, flip folder/lyres, band shirt, band shorts, and a few other small items with this fee. Fees should be paid to OEISD via check or money order only.
Junior High Band Fees of $30 per student for 7th and 8th graders are due at the end of this month as well.
If you need additional time, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to make arrangements. Guard fees are handled separately, and they do not need to pay this fee.

Finally, you should also have received a ‘welcome’ email from Presto here. This is the system that we track our band fees, communicate with, and manage other aspects of our program. If you login via that link you can update your email addresses and contact info. It will also show your students current balances on fees.
2026 Florida Trip
We can still add students to the Florida Trip for one last week! Incoming 9th-12th-grade band students, or JH Front ensemble members, are eligible to travel on this trip, and we can still add students.

Payment options and forms are handled through their website. I encourage students to attend this trip; it will be a fantastic experience for them, and it is only really possible for most of them as a group like this!
