Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 1/5/2025
Happy New Year! We are looking forward to welcoming students back from the break on Wednesday! Please do remind them to bring their instruments back to school on Wednesday morning! This week has a couple of items of note, so I wanted to make sure to send this out on Sunday like normal, though.
The first is that we do need all trip participants for 2026 to please make sure you register on the Bob Rogers Travel site for the trip by Thursday evening. Current 8th-11th Grade Band Students are eligible to travel on this. We will be able to register more after the date, but we ask that if you are planning on your student attending, you set up their account by then. Payment options and forms are handled through their website there. The boosters will bulk donate toward the trip for the number of students who have paid a deposit by February 15th. That will be paid sometime next month once we confirm the number of participants. I encourage students to attend this trip, it will be an amazing experience for them that is only really possible for most of them as a group like this!
The five students from Odem HS who advanced to the Area Round of auditions will get their chance to compete for spots in the All-State Band this weekend. Those auditions will take place at Calallen HS. Students need to be at the HS by 7 am Saturday morning for departure. We will take the students to eat in the mid-afternoon after the auditions are complete. There will be a snack bar available for students that day for lunch and snacks.
