Odem Bands Schedule Week of 10/12/2015 – UIL Region Marching Contest Week

We are excited that this week will see The Spirit of OHS begin their official UIL Contest season! Please keep in mind that it is imperative that all students are at ALL rehearsals for the full rehearsal. We have made big strides in the past eleven weeks of working on our show, and with a further push I know we will continue to have a very successful season!!!

Also along those lines we will need an additional 5 or 6 parents helping this week as some of our help from the previous weeks will be unavailable for these two competitions. Friday night if we can have your assistance during half-time we will be able to make certain everyone knows their part in putting things in place for our show.

Additionally we will need help once again in the concession stand. Please remember that by working in the concession stand for one nights shift we do waive the Spring Fee of $50.

A few other reminders for parents as we prepare for Saturday. Ladies should not have any nail polish on or jewelry worn. Hair needs to be up in a way that it may be concealed by the hats. All students need to come with LONG BLACK socks to the game and competition the following day. It is imperative that we have a uniform appearance for all students. Additionally we would be very appreciative of having some parents volunteer before we leave to get pant lengths uniform for all students.

Last week I sent home an order form for t-shirts for parents/family/friends to order of our show shirts, junior high shirts, jazz shirts, and baseball caps. So far I’ve only received two orders. If you would like to order from those items the order form is attached to this e-mail. Please send the form and payment by Tuesday.

Thank you for all of your help and support of the great students in our program. We would like to invite you to a public run-through Thursday night at 8:15pm.

We perform on Saturday at Sinton HS at 11:45am. We would like to see the stands turned Blue and Gold for the students’ performance! Thanks again!

Monday: 6:15pm – ~8:30pm – High School Marching Rehearsal Clinic with Clinician. This may run a little later than 8:30pm due to our having a clinician this evening.

Tuesday: Shirt Orders Due

Wednesday: 5:00pm – 6:30pm High School Marching Band Rehearsal

Thursday: 6:30pm – 8:30pm High School Marching Band Rehearsal

Friday: Football Game Odem HS vs. Skidmore-Tynan HS
4:45pm – Pizza at Band Hall for students that helped with Stadium Clean-up
5:45pm – Walkthrough of show
6:15pm – Dressed in uniforms
7:30pm – Game Begins
Post-Game Load at least Props and front ensemble in trailer/truck.

Saturday: UIL Region 14 Marching Band Contest
7:00am – Students at Stadium for Walkthrough
7:15am-8:00am – Senior Speeches
8:00am-9:00am – Load remaining instruments/change into uniforms.
9:15am – Board Buses
10:00am – Arrive at Sinton HS to unload
11:00am – Warm-Up
11:45am – Performance
2:15pm – Announcement of Ratings
3:00pm – Arrive Back at Band Hall
