We would like to begin today by thanking our parents, alumni, and student volunteers for helping us run the Area Marching Contest on Saturday. You all did an amazing job of keeping the contest running smoothly, and we greatly appreciate your help! Thank you to everyone for helping us successfully navigate Homecoming this past week, too!

This week, we will compete at the Bands of America Super-Regional Competition at the Alamo Dome on Friday. For anyone who wishes to purchase tickets for the event, that information is here: https://marching.musicforall.org/event/san-antonio-super-regional-2024/

Due to changing student schedules with athletic practices, we will move Wednesday’s practice back to 6 pm-7:30 pm to allow more students to attend. We know that will be an issue with some students with church. Please just let us know if that is the case, and we will excuse those students from part or all of the rehearsal as necessary. We intend to be competitive and produce a great final performance of the show for the season! We will rehearse at our normal time on Thursday and load the trailer and truck at the end of practice.

Students need to be at school between 4:45 am and 5:00 am Friday. We will do a quick run-through before boarding the buses to San Antonio. We aim to arrive for the trucks in time for our lot entry at 9:45 am. 

We do need help with the performance from parent volunteers. You receive admission into the field with us then, and we do have a limited number of passes that will let you attend the rest of the prelims and finals with us. Please let me know if you are available! Volunteers should plan to meet in the parking lot behind the dome (across the street from Bill Millers) at about 9:30 am. 

We compete at 11:30 am and will load everything back onto our trucks/trailers and buses to quickly depart for lunch south of town. Once we eat lunch, we will depart to drop off football players at Santa Rosa HS in time for team meetings. The Band students will then go to a CiCi’s for dinner. We’ll return for the game and depart afterward. Due to the charter buses we are taking, we should be able to return by about 12:30 am. We will post updates on the Booster Facebook page, and we will have kids message parents.

The next morning, on Saturday, we’ll need students at the Band Hall by 8 a.m. to travel to San Antonio for our second day. Students will have lunch on their own in the Rivercenter Mall before we walk to the Alamodome to watch the final block of preliminary contests and awards and then eat dinner at Hard Rock Café. We will then return to the Alamodome to watch finals that night. This is a major competition with over 70 bands signed up to participate, and traditionally has been a great experience for our students! Again, this is a mandatory event for both days; please contact me if you have any questions. 

For tickets, if you want to hang out with us at Finals that second night, it would be advisable to consider that in which tickets you purchase. They offer a few options of sessions on those or a combo ticket.
