Odem HS Summer Band Begins Monday July 27th!
The Spirit of Odem High School Marching Band will begin their Summer Practice Schedule on Monday, July 27th. For the first week we will run our traditional ‘two-a-day’ practice schedule. Students will come in the morning/early afternoon for their sectionals and then full band rehearsals/outside marching fundamentals will be held in the evenings. It is imperative that students are present at these rehearsals so we may have a successful season.
Sectional Schedule:
9:00am-11:30am: Color Guard
9:00am – 1:00pm: Trumpets/F Horn
9:00am – 11:30am: Woodwinds/Front Ensemble
11:30am – 1:00pm: Battery Percussion/Low Brass
Afternoon/Evening Rehearsals
2:00pm – 2:45pm: Leadership Meeting (Drum Majors and Section Leaders)
3:00pm – 6:00pm: Inside Music Rehearsal
6:30pm – 8:30pm: Outside Marching Practice
Students should bring a water bottle or camelbak bag for water during the outside rehearsals throughout Summer Band. Closed toed shoes (no boots) are needed for all marching rehearsals as well. Additionally beginning the second week students should bring chalk or a unique color of duct tape for marking their spots on the pavement.
