Odem Bands Schedule 1/9/2017
I hope this message finds you all well! I would like to begin this week by congratulating Noah Villarreal and Justin Ridgway for their both making the All-State Band as percussionists! This marks Justin’s second year of being an All-Stater, and Noah’s fourth year! Noah will be presented with a scholarship of $2,000 on behalf of the Association of Texas Small School Bands at the All-State Performances on Saturday, February 11th. Both of these gentlemen will compete at the final round of State on Wednesday, February 8th and then participate in the rehearsals leasing up to that performance of the 3A All-State Band. We congratulate them on an outstanding accomplishment!!!!!!!!!
We also congratulate the other eight students: Abby Tovar (9th), Lilibeth Barra (9th of 35), Sabrina Childress (4th of 15), Joey Aguirre (9th of 15), Brandon Morin (5th of 20), Roberto Ramirez (4th of 20), Natalie Stanley (6th of 20), and Ethan Tracy (8th of 20), This was the most students Odem has ever advanced to the Area round of auditions, and we had several of these students very close to making the All-State bands as well. All of them worked incredibly hard and we’re very proud of them!
Monday night at the School Board Meeting we will be recognizing band students who earned places in the All-Region Bands (both JH and HS) if they are able to attend. The meeting begins at 6:30pm in the HS library, and their presentation will be early in the agenda. We appreciate any of those students who are able to attend!
Tuesday evening we will have our monthly Band Booster Meeting at 7pm at the Band Hall. We encourage parents to come as we will begin to make some preparations for spring fundraising opportunities. In particular the Boosters have agreed to run the concessions for the OYBL. Per our discussion at the previous meetings we will be extending the waiver of fees for students whose parents participate in those days too. Please contact Mr. Hammack for more information. Spring Band fees are $50 for grades 7-12 and will be due at the end of this month.

School Board Presentation 6:30pm
Tuesday: Band Hall Open until 4:30pm
Booster Meeting at 7pm
Wednesday: Band Hall Open until 4:30pm
Thursday: Band Hall Open until 4:30pm
Friday: Band Hall Open until 4pm
