Odem Bands – Schedule Week of 1/13/2019
We would like to begin this week by congratulating junior Ethan Sanchez on making the All-State Band on Saturday at the Area Tryouts. He is the first ever Odem HS Trombone student to earn a spot in the All-State Bands, and we look forward to his audition in the Final State Round on Wednesday, February 12th, and his performance with the All-State Band on Saturday, February 15th in San Antonio at the 100th Anniversary Texas Music Educators Association Convention. All six of our Area students represented themselves well Saturday and we are proud of them!
This week we need deposits for the trip to Dallas no later than Wednesday. I have placed information about that trip below. This trip is open to all Odem HS members who wish to attend! We need to verify the interest will be there to make the trip happen, so please turn in those deposits by then.
We will be doing a couple fundraisers to help raise money for this trip this semester. First will be the Sponsorship Fundraiser – we will begin it sometime very soon.
Additionally please save the date for our 1st Annual Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, March 7th.
Trip to Dallas:
We will be traveling to Dallas in May with the Odem HS Band to perform at the University of North Texas – Murchison Hall. Students will also attend a Dallas Symphony Concert and go to Six Flags in Arlington before returning home early the next day. We need $75 deposits no later than Wednesday. Trip payments to California may be applied and we will refund the balance to anyone who has paid more. The total cost of the trip will be $300.
We will be hosting a 1st Annual Mattress Fundraiser on March 7th. For this to be successful we need to share the word as much as possible. Please help us out with following these steps as we are just 8 weeks away!

Windi and Jazzi Fundraiser:
Our 3rd Annual Windi and Jazzi Fundraiser has been rescheduled for Friday, April 3rd. We have once again setup online ticket order – you can order tickets here at http://odemhsband.ludus.com. There you can pick your seats out and pay easily. We will provide ticket order forms to students in March, or you may also visit the band hall to purchase them. Please help us sell this event out! (Tickets should be paid for via check/money order made out to Owl Band Boosters if paid for at band hall) Tickets are $15 for the longer outside tables, $20 for the middle circular tables, or $25 for the Back tables with chairs. (If you would like the $25 seats I recommend ordering online soon as they sell out quickly!)
Dinner is going to be Fried Fish or Chicken with sides and dessert provided.
We will need basket items for the silent auction that will be held at Windi and Jazzi. The Boosters are also seeking donations of restaurant gift cards and other items to also include and bundle in the silent auction. If you can help with obtaining these donations please contact Mrs. Mandi Edwards. We will provide the students themes for baskets in the next couple of weeks.
Windi and Jazzi is a great event that has grown each year. Please help support this event with a great meal and great music!
