Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 1/23/2022
This week is a final last light week for us with the Odem Bands with no events scheduled. Please note that Spring Band Fees of $25 for Grades 7-12 students should be paid by February 1st, as well as any outstanding fall band fees. The Spring Band Fee goes towards helping pay for Spring Expenses, Clinicians, etc. that come up for the bands. If you have a financial concern with this please contact Mr. Rash or Mr. Williams to discuss it, and we’ll work with you on that need.
The other big item is Trip Deposits for Cleveland 2024 should have come in last week. There are four ways we can handle payments for this trip; Our travel company can debit your checking account automatically per your selection at sign-up, you can pay them directly with a credit card (I believe there is 3% surcharge), you can mail them a check, or you may do as we have in the past and pay a check/money order to ‘Owl Band Boosters’ and we will forward that onto the company.
Next week on Friday and Saturday will be the All-Region Jazz Clinic Concert on Friday/Saturday. JH Auditions were held virtually and those results will be given to students tomorrow. We’ll share their results next week!
After that we’re fully in Solo and Ensemble preparation mode. Our annual Solo and Ensemble Recital will be held on February 16th at 6:30pm. That is mandatory for HS Applied Music students/HS Ensemble members, and optional for JH Band Students. We use this as a great chance for students to be prepared for their UIL Region performances the following week!
One final item is that Windi and Jazzi tickets are on sale now! Our annual Dinner/Concert Fundraiser will be held on May 6th at 5:30pm in the Odem HS Cafetorium. This year’s theme is ‘Comedy Tonight,’ and will feature tributes to the slapstick eras of musical comedy! You may pre-purchase tickets here: http://odemhsband.ludus.com We will be seeking out donations for basket items and business donations in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye out for that information!
