Thank you to all who attended our OJH Bands Concert last week! It’s been a tough year and Mr. Williams and I are grateful for the fact we were able to have a performance with those students!

Tomorrow night at 7pm we will be having our monthly band booster meeting in the JH Band Hall. (We had to move it this month) We are in need of some new attendees at these meetings. Please come if you are able! 

For the bands our next event is going to be Solo and Ensemble. We are only participating with HS students this year due to the overlap with JH Region auditions that were pushed back. We will host our annual UIL Solo and Ensemble Recital on Tuesday, February 9^th beginning at 5:30pm. We are still determining the procedures we will follow for this event to be held at the OHS Cafetorium. It will definitely be live streamed, in-person attendance is going to be decided closer to the event.

Those students will then record a video performance for submission to UIL on Monday, February 16^th. Those times will be scheduled this coming week so we can get them edited and submitted on time to UIL. We should have results back the following week I believe. For students who qualify for the State Solo and Ensemble Contest, it looks like as of right now that event is moving forward. It will be held in the Austin Area, and we would be traveling May 27^th-May 28^th if so. As always with this school year everything is subject to change with conditions being closely watched.

We did confirm a date of April 14^th for UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation. Our students in grades 7-12 will participate with their performances being held in the Odem HS Cafetorium. More information will come on that when the event draws near.
