Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 1/8/2024
Happy New Year!
This week we are happy to welcome students back and begin working on our spring event preparations. The spring is a busy time of year for our students with just about every activity, and band is of course no exception! This month we don’t have any events, but we will be working hard at preparing for Solo and Ensemble in February and UIL Concert and Sight-Reading in early April. Please help us make sure that students have their instruments at school tomorrow, so we can ensure we start working right away!
We do have Spring Band Fees coming due this month. Those fees are for students in Grades 7-12, and are $25/Student payable via Check or Money Order. They help to offset many of the costs in the spring with clinicians, supplies, music, etc. Please make payment out to OEISD, Memo: Band, no later than Friday, January 19th. Please contact us if you have any questions!
This week we will have a rehearsal for the group traveling to Cleveland on Thursday night from 6:30pm-8:30pm. We need those students to be in attendance at each of these rehearsals to ensure we have a great performance in one of the world’s most spectacular concert halls! Please make sure you are staying on-time and current with your payments, as there are several deadlines for check points this month.
Finally, we wish to congratulate Abigael Ferguson – Bassoon (4th) Irma Coronado – Clarinet (29th), Benjamin Castaneda – Trumpet (8th), Eva Garcia – Trombone (10th), and Adrian Aguirre (9th) on their outstanding auditions at the Area Round of Auditions yesterday!
