Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 1/9/2023
Happy New Year!
We would like to begin this week by congratulating the five students who auditioned at the Area Round this weekend! Savannah Beltran, Emma Doria, Abaigeal Ferguson, Lillan Kiefer, and Adrian Aguirre represented Odem HS well Saturday! We are proud of each of them!
This week sees our return from the holiday break, and a little bit less activity for the bands over the next few weeks. We do need to have all JH Region Jazz Auditions recorded this week – Mr. Williams will be getting with the registered students to set that up. Beyond that, we’ll begin gearing up for the UIL Solo and Ensemble contests that are our next competitive event on February 23rd. This is open to eligible 7th-12th grade students, and sign-ups must be completed this week.
Finally, the last big thing this week is our sign-ups for the 2024 Odem HS Band Trip to Cleveland! Please visit this site: https://bobrogerstravel.grcoll.co/go/odem8949 to complete registration for the trip. If you are interested in sponsoring please send me an email and/or return the form that was passed out at the meeting November. You may find the trip packet below as well! Deposits of $100 are due next Tuesday. We prefer payments be made directly to the company this year, but if you wish to write a check to the Owl Band Boosters we can forward that payment on. We meet with the boosters on Tuesday evening this week at 7pm in the HS Cafetorium

2024 Odem HS Trip to Cleveland
In November, we met and discussed our 2024 Trip to Cleveland, OH that was approved. You may find the trip packet here: https://tinyurl.com/3drm8zfu Some highlights of the trip: Broadway Show at Playhouse Square, Performance at World Famous Severance Hall, day at Cedar Point, Cleveland Museum of Art, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Niagara Falls.
We have received the registration information from our tour company for payments and signing up for the trip. Please visit this site: https://bobrogerstravel.grcoll.co/go/odem8949 The portal will ask for an email, ask you to sign their contract, and allow you to purchase trip insurance as well. We need all travelers to please register by January 10th. Deposits are due by January 17th. It’s important we have a full and accurate count of travelers as early as we can. Also please not the initial price I’m seeing on the attached form, and may be on the website, is missing airfare and charter buses. We’re budgeting $475 per person for airfare and the bus is also included in that total of $1900 that we are currently expect, but that may fluctuate higher or lower by then.
