Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 10/12/2026
We begin this week by congratulating the members of The Spirit of OHS on earning third place in Class 3A at the Robstown Crossroads Marching on Saturday! They placed 12th overall – finishing above several 4A and 5A bands! The judges gave great feedback that we will use to refine the performance this week!
This week is the first of our UIL run with the band, and students must be at every rehearsal over the next two weeks! Tomorrow night (Monday), from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, we’ll work with a clinician who was one of our judges on Saturday. We need to make full use of his experience during that rehearsal!
Thursday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 will be especially critical since we will not have band class on Friday due to the early release for the game.
Saturday will be the UIL Region Marching Contest in Beeville, and we will be at AC Jones HS. We perform at 6:15 pm and will hear the results via announcements at about 7:00 pm. Following that, we will return to Odem at about 8:00 pm. Tickets for the event may be purchased online only here: https://uilmusicregion14.ludus.com/index.php (Be sure to select the Beeville site!)
Next Monday is a school holiday, but we will rehearse from 9 am until noon with a guest clinician in our final efforts to prepare for the Area Marching Contest that weekend. It is imperative that all our students are there to make the most of that time! Please plan accordingly so students can be there for rehearsal.
We have seen a ton of growth in our students’ performances through the season, and compared to last year. We appreciate their hard work and hope to see amazing performances the next two weekends!
A couple of other notes on our upcoming schedule: Band Senior Night will be held during the pregame on 10/30 during our final home game of the season. The next day, we need all the help we can get to host the 2A UIL Area Marching Contest on the 31st. We will know the schedule sometime next weekend, after the region contests. We anticipate an afternoon prelims/evening finals event. That next weekend will be our overnight trip to go from the Falfurrias game to the Bands of America Super Regional Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio. We perform sometime in the first block on the morning of the 7th, but do not have an official time yet. That day, we will stay through the prelims awards and then head to dinner/home unless we win our conference (at which point we would have a finals run). More information will come for those events as we approach!
