Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 10/21/2019 – Area Contest
Congratulations to The Spirit of OHS on earning their 14th Consecutive Superior Rating at the UIL Region Marching Contest on Saturday! This has earned them a trip to the UIL Area Marching Contest on Saturday in Beeville. Odem will perform at 4pm as a part of the contest that will feature 31 3A Bands! Students will need to be at the Band Hall at 9am, and we will have a send-off potluck lunch at 11am for the students. Please see below for information on the dishes each section will bring.
This week will be very important for our students final preparations for the contest. Please make sure your students are in attendance at all rehearsals so that we can refine and fix mistakes that the judges noticed on Saturday before this contest. We anticipate a very competitive contest to determine the 12 Area Finalists, and who will advance in the 6 spots that go onto the UIL State Marching Contest!

Area Send-Off Potluck Lunch:
Saturday is the one of the biggest days students in the high school band have been working towards this year! Last year we had a potluck luncheon that everyone enjoyed before Region, and would like to try that again before Area this year before we load up on the buses. Students food should be dropped off to the high school by 10:45am so that we can begin the lunch at eleven. We will need some parents to help serve/organize everything. Please let me know if you can help with that!

Odem-Edroy ISD 1st Annual Feast of Kindness:
We will be providing more information about this event from the district in the coming weeks, but on Wednesday, November 13th, Odem-Edroy ISD is going to host its first ever ‘Feast of Kindness’ event. It will involve a community wide turkey dinner, along with entertainment provided by students from Elementary through High School. We need students to add this to their calendars for events. Arrangements have been made to documents the students who are in attendance to excuse them from CCD in Odem. This will be a big performance for the members of the Odem HS and JH Symphonic Winds. Please save the date!
