Odem Bands – Schedule Week of 10/30/2023
I would like to begin this week by congratulating The Spirit of OHS on what was undoubtedly their best performance of the season yesterday!!! Though we didn’t make finals, they placed 13th out of 33 bands – ahead of 20 other bands! That was despite starting as the second band and having to be at the school by 4am! They did an incredible job, and we are so proud of the growth from last year to this year, and even from this summer to now! Our competitive season is at a close now, but we will continue to support the District Champion Odem Owls through their playoff games! Please plan for games on the 10th and 17th, but we do have to maintain flexibility there as we plan each of those on a week-by-week basis.
For this week though, it’s the Owls bye week, and a chance for us all to catch our breath. HS Band students need to make sure they have their concert instruments at school tomorrow, as we will begin ‘sit-down band’ and start preparing for our upcoming Veterans Day ceremony and Winter Concert. There are no scheduled after school rehearsals this week, but if students wish to have some help on Region Music they may stay and work after school on Thursday.
Once again thank you to every parent who worked the concession stand, helped move a piece of equipment, helped us at our marching contests we hosted, and got your students to school for all of the events and practices! We cannot have a successful program without you all! Please read through the upcoming events, as we still have many more coming soon!
