Thank you to everyone who supported us at Flour Bluff on Saturday! The students performed great, and we received some good feedback to push forward through the season’s last weeks. As we progress, please help us ensure students are at EVERY rehearsal! Unless there is a conflict with a school activity they are directly competing in, students must attend rehearsals/performances! We cannot successfully compete with students missing rehearsals that we make major adjustments at! We will host rehearsals on the next two Mondays when students do not have school. Those are mandatory rehearsals.

This week, we will have two clinicians out to work with our students. On Thursday evening, Mr. Rolando Molina will be in to work with the band, and on Saturday, during our clinic, Dr. Jennifer Voges will be in. Both directors have been to the UIL State Marching contests with their bands, and we’re looking forward to their invaluable feedback! Because we do have our Saturday Clinic this week, we will adjust our rehearsals to only Monday and Thursday evenings. With those and our three-hour rehearsal on Saturday, we’re at 7 of our 8 hours of time for the week. Students can still have an hour of sectionals if their section schedules them that way. 

This week, we will have our Band Senior night presentation at Friday’s game. We traditionally host this on the final home game, but that is homecoming this year for us. Senior Band Parents should report to the gate beside where the band sits by 6:45 p.m. We will begin after the football and cheer parent night concludes as the final part of the pregame time. 

Next weekend (October 19^th), our UIL Region Marching Contest performance will be held in Beeville at AC Jones HS. We will be the final 3A band to perform at 6:45 p.m. I’ll send ticket information out this coming week. For the Area Marching contest the following weekend, the 26^th, we should be performing around 2 p.m., I believe. (No full schedule will be available until after contests on the 19^th) 

Finally, we still have some extra show shirts for sale if you are interested. We have a selection of most sizes available for $30 for S-XL, $32 for XXL, and $34 for XXXL. Please get in touch with me to verify that we have one in the size you are seeking. Checks or Money Orders are only accepted to OEISD.
