Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 11/11/2024
We would like to congratulate our students on their outstanding performance on Friday at the Bands of America Super Regional Competition. Their efforts earned them the title of Outstanding Music in Class A, and also third place in class. We hope they enjoyed their time in San Antonio and the positive way to conclude our competitive season! A special thank you to the Owl Band Boosters for paying for charter buses for Friday, lunch on Friday, and dinner at Hard Rock Café on Saturday!
While our competitive season has ended, we will continue supporting the Odem Owls with all their playoff games moving forward. On Friday, they play Dilley at 7 pm in Floresville. Our travel plans are potentially a little in flux, so please note there could be some adjustment later in the week. For now, please plan on students needing to be at the Band Hall no later than 30 minutes after school is released. We will have more details by Tuesday, but plan to have an early dinner for the kids before we depart.
The Spirit of OHS will perform as part of the Odem-Edroy ISD Veteran’s Day Ceremony tomorrow. We need students to be at the Band Hall before school, if possible, to unload the trailer/truck and warm up before the ceremony. They will wear uniforms and need their black socks and marching shoes.
We will have our monthly band booster meeting on Tuesday night to wrap up the season at 6 pm in the HS Cafetorium. We would love to see some new faces! Please remember that every parent with a student in the program, Grades 6-12, is welcome and encouraged to come.
Finally, pending school board approval, we will have a trip meeting for the 2026 Band Trip to Florida next Tuesday, the 19th, at 6:30 pm. The trip will be for all our current Grades 8-11 students. We ask that all of our parents of that group of students try to attend for the information, even if you are unsure if they will go.
