Odem Bands – Schedule Week of 11/13/2023
This week is our final week before Thanksgiving Break, and remains a busy one! First we have HS Band Placement auditions this week in class. Students must record their placement exam by Thursday after school for a grade. Tuesday evening we will be holding our monthly Band Booster meeting at 7pm in the Cafetorium. We will need new officers for next school year, and would ask that if you’re interested you please attend these meetings. It’s imperative that we have new people to fill the spots in the coming year so we can continue to see the support for the band students!
Thursday evening, we will have our rescheduled Cleveland Trip Rehearsal from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the HS Band Hall. All students attending the Cleveland trip need to be there so we can read through some of the music that we are planning to perform there.
Friday, we have a playoff game versus Lexington in Yoakum. HS Band Students will need to be at the band hall by 2:45pm, and we will depart as soon as we can get buses back to the school. We’ll have dinner delivered to the stadium. Depending on the outcome of the game, the next round would most likely be hosted on the following Friday of Thanksgiving Break. For that round we request that if students are in town, they please travel to the game with us. I know many families may be out of town, those are excused in that situation as long as we receive a note verifying that from parents.
The week after break, our Odem JH students auditioning on Tuesday, the 28th for All-Region Auditions at Tuloso-Midway HS. HS Region Auditions will happen that Saturday, December 2nd in Alice. Students who earn spots in the All-Region Bands will travel to Kingsville on 12/8 and 12/9 for the Region Clinic/Concert at TAMUK.
