Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 11/7/2022
We would like to congratulate the members of The Spirit of OHS on an outstanding performance Friday evening at the Bands of America Super Regional in San Antonio! Thank you to everyone who came to support us by watching! We would also like to give a special thanks to our Owl Band Boosters for all of their help and support of the overnight trip to San Antonio!
This week our students will be transitioning to ‘sit-down’ band with the high school band. We’ll also have a performance on Friday morning as part of the Veteran’s Day Ceremony. Students will wear their uniforms one final time for that performance. We will be providing more information to them late this week.
For both JH and HS Band students our next event after that will be All-Region Auditions. All eligible JH Symphonic Winds members are required to audition for the bands, and we strongly encourage all high school students to do it as well! Any student who is interested in being on the Leadership Team next year should note they must either audition for Region Band or participate in UIL Solo and Ensemble as part of the requirements for membership on the team.
For JH Woodwind and Brass students their auditions will be in the evening on Tuesday, November 29th at West Oso HS. All High School Students, plus JH Percussion Auditions will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at Alice HS.
Two last things to note here; Tuesday, at 7pm we will have our monthly Owl Band Booster Meeting. This meeting will involve closing out the season of fall proceeds. Then next Tuesday, November 15th at 7:30pm we will be hosting a meeting to discuss our proposed 2024 HS Band Trip. We encourage all 8th-11th Grade Band Members and their parents to attend that meeting. Our goal is to have every student attend our trips, so please come join us for the information that night.
