Odem Bands Schedule Week of 11/13/2017
First of all we would like to again congratulate the members of The Spirit of OHS on an outstanding performance at the UIL State Marching Contest! Thank you to every parent, alumnus, and community member who came to support the band in San Antonio! We cannot be successful without your support!

This week is going to offer some rest for the students with only the playoff game on Friday for events this week. We will be moving on towards our concert season preparations throughout the week though. Students will be auditioning for band placement beginning Wednesday. All students in the high school band must complete the audition for a test grade. Completing the audition also counts as a portion of their semester grade. The audition will include their Bb Concert Scale, Chromatic Scale, and portions of the two All-Region Audition etudes. The auditions will be completed via ‘blind’ recordings in class Wednesday-Friday, and before/after school as needed.
The band hall will be open for practice tomorrow from 8am-11:30am, and 1pm-4:00pm if anyone would like to come practice/receive help. Demonstration Recordings of all ATSSB Etudes can be found via Youtube and searching ‘ATSSB Year B’ and their instrument.
Friday will be the first round of playoffs with Odem playing Stockdale in Refugio at 7:30pm. All eligible students are still required to attend playoff games. Should Odem win this game we will also play another game the following week during Thanksgiving Break. I am understanding of vacation plans, but we need as many students as possible for that event if we advance. If you do have plans to be out of town please make sure your students inform me this week so we can plan appropriately.

Tuesday, December 19th: Screeching Owl Jazz Band Evening of Jazz
Saturday, January 13th: All-Area Band Auditions

Monday: HS Band Hall Open from 8am-11:30am, 1pm-4:00pm for practice
Tuesday: Band Hall Open until 4:30pm for Practice
Wednesday: Band Hall Open until 4:00pm for Instrument Pickup
Thursday: Band Hall Open until 5:00pm for Practice
Friday: Playoff Game vs. Stockdale in Refugio 7:30pm
