Odem Bands Schedule Week of 11/27/2017 – All-Region Auditions
I hope this message finds everyone well after a great Thanksgiving Break! This week we will be focusing on All-Region Auditions on Saturday. This is for both the Odem JH students and Odem HS students who have signed up. Please read the times and locations for pickup Saturday carefully in that section. We are going to be leaving from both band halls for the first time, which is going to create a few new procedures for our students. Additionally we need 2-3 parents to please ride the buses with us and back with the JH students when they complete their auditions. Please contact me if you are able – please note you must have a background check completed! (We may still be able to get one through this week if you are interested)
With marching season now completed we need to make sure we have received all student uniforms and marching equipment back. If for some reason students have any parts of their uniforms at home be sure they come back tomorrow before 7:45am.
All-Region Auditions Saturday
All-Region Auditions are Saturday at West Oso HS. HS Band Students and OJH PERCUSSION will be meeting at the OHS Band Hall by 6:30am. All other OJH Band students will meet at the OJH Band Hall. We are having the JH percussionists meet at the high school to help balance the bus loads. We will depart and have our junior high students begin signing in at the high school by 7:30am. Our directors will have a meeting and begin auditions as soon as we can after that. Traditionally the JH auditions finish up between 1:30-2:30pm. When all JH auditions have concluded we will send the buses back to the JH Band Hall for those students to be picked up.
For both JH and HS students once they have completed their auditions they may be picked up from West Oso, just be sure they sign out with our designated sponsor. HS Band students otherwise will return on the last bus between 4:30pm and 6pm. The contest has what I believe to be a record number of entrants, so it is tough to pin down an exact time the contest will finish.
All students who are entered in the contest must attend. We have paid an entry fee for each student and they are expected to be there. At both the JH and HS we will have some extended hours of practice most days this week for students to receive help.
Students who make a spot in the All-Region Bands will then participate in the All-Region Band Clinic/Concert next weekend on Friday, December 8th and Saturday, December 9th. The concert will begin at 3:30pm on that Saturday.

Monday: Band Hall Open until 5:00pm
Tuesday: Band Hall Open for student practice until 5:00pm
Region Band Directors Meeting 6pm
Booster Officer Meeting 7:30pm
Wednesday: Band Hall Open until 5pm for Practice
Thursday: Band Hall Open until 5:30pm for Practice
Friday: Band Hall Open until 4:15pm
