Odem Bands Schedule Week of 12/11/2017
It always amazes me how quickly the first semester flies by! This week we will have our annual Odem Bands Winter concert on Thursday. We look forward to this also being our very first concert on our new stage!
As with any first time of having an event we will have a few new procedures to make the concert successful. If you arrive prior to the beginning of the concert please come in the main high school entrance. We ask that the doors to the cafetorium from the main hallway only be used in between pieces or groups after that time. This is due to those doors being right in front of the stage. We will have the back door to the room, at the very front of the school, unlocked as well. There will be signs to guide you as well for this performance.
School Board Meeting
Tomorrow night (Monday night) we will present to the School Board about advancing to the State Marching Band Contest. I would ask that any seniors and leadership team members can make it to the meeting at 6:30pm at the JH Library to please do so! It will be early in the board meeting as the second main agenda item.
Beginning Band Dress Rehearsal
On Wednesday the OJH Beginning Band will have a rehearsal from 4pm-5:30pm at the OHS Cafetorium. This will be their one opportunity to rehearse with all four classes together, and it is imperative that they attend this graded rehearsal. Following the rehearsal we ask that you pick them up at the front of the high school. (Please note students do not need to dress up for this rehearsal, they should be in their regular school clothes)
Odem Bands Winter Concert
The Odem Bands Winter Concert will be this Thursday beginning at 6:30pm for the Junior High Bands, and 7:30pm for the High School Band. The concert will be at the Odem High School Cafetorium. We invite all parents, family members, and alumni to come to this historical first concert in our new performance space!
For the concert Students will have the following Call Times to be at the High School.
5:45pm: Beginning Band on Stage
6:00pm: JH Concert Band in HS Band Hall
6:15pm: JH Symphonic Winds at HS Band Hall
6:30pm: JH Concert Begins
6:50pm: HS Students at Band Hall
7:30pm: HS Concert Begins
Concert Attire for Students
Odem Junior High Students should wear: Ladies – Black Blouse/Black Slacks/Black Shoes, Gentlemen – White Button Down Shirt, Black Slacks, Black Dress Shoes/Socks, and a tie (preferably solid Navy).
Odem High School Students should wear: Ladies – Black Blouse/Black Slacks/Black shoes, Gentlemen – Black Button Down Shirt(with one top collar button undone)/Black Slacks/Black Dress Shoes.
Jazz Concert
The Screeching Owl Jazz Band will perform next week on Tuesday, December 19th, at 7pm in the Odem High School Cafetorium. The Jazz Band will have a sound check/dress rehearsal on Monday after school until about 5:30pm.

School Board Meeting Presentation at 6:30pm
Tuesday: Band Hall Open until 4:15pm
Wednesday: Beginning Band Dress Rehearsal from 4pm-5:30pm at Odem HS Cafetorium
Thursday: Odem Bands Winter Concert.

Friday: Band Hall Open until 4:10pm
