We would like to begin this week by congratulating the students in the Odem JH and Odem HS Bands who performed at the All-Region Clinic/Concert this weekend! The students had a series of fantastic performances, and we hope they had a positive experience! 

This week is our final one before break, and our final two events for this calendar year. First up, on Tuesday night, beginning at 6:30pm we will have our JH Winter Concert. Students need to be at the high school at the following times: Beginning Band – on Stage at 5:45pm, JH Concert Band in Band Hall at 6:00pm, and Symphonic Winds on Waiting on Back Patio by 6:20pm. We anticipate the full concert of all three bands will last about an hour. Please note that this is a mandatory and graded event for all junior high band students.

After that we have one final event on the evening Saturday as we have been asked to lead the Odem Christmas Parade with the HS Band. Students need to be at the HS Band Hall by 4pm Saturday. We should be done around 7pm I believe. We would like students to wear their festive Christmas shirts, sweaters, santa hats, and lights for this performance. We understand that some students may already be departing for vacation destinations, but need every student who is in town to please be in attendance! 

Odem JH Concert Attire

Concert Attire requirements are listed here. Please let us know if there is a concern or you need assistance locating concert apparel. 

Ladies: Black Blouse/Black Slacks/Dress Shoes (Blouses need to have some sort of sleeve that extends past the shoulder, and should not be low cut)
Gentlemen: White Button Down Shirt, Black Slacks, Black Belt, Black Socks, Black Dress Shoes, and Tie (Preferably solid navy blue, but any tie will work)

2024 Odem HS Trip to Cleveland

Before the break we met and discussed our 2024 Trip to Cleveland, OH that was approved. You may find the trip packet here: https://tinyurl.com/3drm8zfu Some highlights of the trip: Broadway Show at Playhouse Square, Performance at World Famous Severance Hall, day at Cedar Point, Cleveland Museum of Art, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Niagara Falls. 

We have received the registration information from our tour company for payments and signing up for the trip. Please visit this site: https://bobrogerstravel.grcoll.co/go/odem8949 The portal will ask for an email, ask you to sign their contract, and allow you to purchase trip insurance as well. We need all travelers to please register by January 10th. Deposits are due by January 17th. It’s important we have a full and accurate count of travelers as early as we can. Also please not the initial price I’m seeing on the attached form, and may be on the website, is missing airfare and charter buses. We’re budgeting $475 per person for airfare and the bus is also included in that total of $1900 that we are currently expect, but that may fluctuate higher or lower by then.
