Odem Bands Schedule Week of 1/4/2016

I hope this message finds you well, rested, and having had a pleasant holiday! With the coming month we have a much lighter schedule for the Odem Bands, but I wanted to be sure to pass on that we do have a few events this week.

First is our monthly booster meeting on Tuesday night at 7pm at the Band Hall. I would like to encourage parents to come as there will be some discussion about an upcoming fundraiser and we’ll give a few details on our trip to New York.

Thursday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm we will have a rehearsal for the Carnegie Hall trip. We need every student who is attending the Carnegie Hall trip to attend all rehearsals. By April we need to be able to submit a recording to DCINY for final approval of our performance. It’s imperative that we have the students well prepared for that. With some of the more advanced music I would like for the group to perform we need the extra rehearsal time. I will send out a full calendar of rehearsals by Thursday, but mostly it will be Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm for the foreseeable future.

Saturday we have six Odem High School students who will be competing at the Area Contest for their chance to be a part of the All-State Bands. I will get with those students on more specifics, but they’ll need to be at the Band Hall by 7:10am.
