Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 2-10-2024
We want to begin this week by congratulating Benjamin Castañeda and Eva Garcia on Saturday’s outstanding performances with the All-Region Jazz Bands! This week, we will be taking Eva to the All-State Band Clinic/Concert, and she’ll have her final state audition and performance up in San Antonio. We wish her the best of luck at State!
Last week, Mr. Williams passed out the JH Band Fundraiser with the Scents of Soy Candle company. The students should have brought home a brochure and order form. Anyone who needs one may pick one up from Mr. Williams at the Junior High. It is imperative that we make this a successful fundraiser as it is the only Fundraiser for the Junior High Band. Order forms and checks/money orders should be returned by February 17th to Mr. Williams. Orders may also be completed online at www.scentsofsoy.com. At checkout, please select that it is to support a fundraiser, then enter a student’s name and select Odem Junior High Band from the drop-down list.
Spring Band Fees are now due at both the High School for all band students and at the JH for 7th/8th-grade band Students. This fee helps offset expenses in the spring for the program and is $25/student. Checks/Money Orders should be made payable to OEISD – no cash, please! These fees should be paid by Thursday, February 6th.For all trip participants for 2026, please ensure you have registered on the Bob Rogers Travel site. Current 8th-11th 11th-grade band students are eligible to travel on this. I show that we are currently just two travelers short of making the next price breakpoint that will drop the trip cost by about $200. If you have considered signing up but haven’t, please do so now! In two weeks, we will make a payment from the boosters to lower the trip cost for every registered/deposited student from the boosters.

Payment options and forms are handled through their website there. I encourage students to attend this trip; it will be an amazing experience for them, and it is only really possible for most of them as a group like this!
