Band Booster Meeting Tuesday

We will have our monthly Band Booster meeting on Tuesday night at 7:00pm in the Odem HS ‘Ensemble’ Room. When you come we will have the side doors to the hallway that leads to the band hall open. It’s just before the pergola on the right. We are looking for input on our Windi and Jazzi Fundraiser in April, as well as parents to sign up to work concessions for OYBL games.

TMEA State Music Convention/All-State Band Performance

Wednesday morning Mr. Williams and I will take our two All-State Band Members, Zenaida Lara and John Pizana up to the All-State Bands. They will audition for their final placement at the State Level auditions. We wish them the best of luck! Their concert is free to attend on Saturday at the Lila Cockrell Theater at the San Antonio Convention Center. Parking is available at the Rivercenter Mall or other parking lots in the area. Their concert begins at 9am – I would recommend arriving a bit before then to allow for time to find seating. There will be a line for later concerts forming, but the ATSSB concert generally does not require you to stand in that line.

Junior High Band Students Instruments Tuesday After School:

On Tuesday after school Junior High Band Students need to pick up their instruments and keep them at home until Monday. While we are gone to the state convention there will be other assignments for them.

(Note only JH takes instruments home, HS Band students need their instruments through those days as they will still be playing in class)

Odem Band Hall Schedule:

Monday:                Band Hall Open until 4pm

Tuesday:                Band Hall Open until 5pm

Band Booster Meeting at 7pm

Wednesday-Friday: Band Halls Closed After School (Directors at TMEA All-State/Convention)

Saturday:              9am – All-State Band Concert at Lila Cockrell Theater

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns! We wish our two All-Staters the best of luck this week on their auditions!
