This week, we wish to begin by congratulating Eva Garcia on an outstanding performance at All-State! She placed 9^th in the Trombone section for classes 1A-3A, and we’re so proud of her for this achievement!

We will be working on preparations for Solo and Ensemble with students this week, which is just a week and a half away. We’ll have our annual Solo and Ensemble Recital on Thursday at 5 pm for our HS students and any JH students who wish to perform that evening. We’ll have a short reception after the students perform. 

This is the final week for the JH Band Fundraiser with the Scents of Soy Candle Company. The students should have brought home a brochure and order form. Anyone who needs one may pick one up from Mr. Williams at the Junior High. It is imperative that we make this a successful fundraiser as it is the only Fundraiser for the Junior High Band. Order forms and checks/money orders should be returned by February 17th to Mr. Williams. Orders may also be completed online at www.scentsofsoy.com. At checkout, please select that it is to support a fundraiser, then enter a student’s name and select Odem Junior High Band from the drop-down list.

Spring Band Fees are now due at both the High School for all band students and at the JH for 7^th/8^th-grade band Students. This fee helps offset expenses in the spring for the program and is $25/student. Checks/Money Orders should be made payable to OEISD – no cash, please! These fees should be paid by Thursday, February 6^th.For all trip participants for 2026, please ensure you have registered on the Bob Rogers Travel site. Current 8th-11th 11th-grade band students are eligible to travel on this. I show that we are currently just two travelers short of making the next price breakpoint that will drop the trip cost by about $200. If you have considered signing up but haven’t, please do so now! In two weeks, we will make a payment from the boosters to lower the trip cost for every registered/deposited student from the boosters.
