Odem Bands Schedule Week of 2/29/2016

This week the Odem Bands have a few things going on. First on Tuesday at 7pm we will have the monthly Owl Band Booster meeting following the District’s Open House. At the meeting we will accept payments for NYC trip and present information on the new Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter we are going to be starting up at the high school. We will present the information on membership requirements at that time. Applications for membership should be available by Wednesday and will be due before Spring Break.

Wednesday the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Symphonic Winds will be performing for the Odem HS Band Students, Odem JH Symphonic Winds, and our third period JH Beginning Percussion/Low Brass students in the Band Hall at 10am. We’re looking forward to our students having the opportunity to hear students performing at the university level!

Thursday we will have our weekly rehearsal for New York. All participating students need to be attending these rehearsals! That rehearsal is from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Friday and Saturday we have some students participating with the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Honor Band. They need to bring money for dinner on the way to the event and also for lunch and dinner the next day. I will speak with them more about that this week.

Finally Friday will also be the date for all Fundraiser funds and unsold cards to be turned in. We do have about 80 extra cards at this time, if you have sold all of the initial cards and would like to sell more please turn in the initial money and I’ll check out some more cards to the students. Please remember all cash should be converted to a Money Order or Personal check before being turned into the band hall. We will not be able to accept cash in the band office.

Monday:  Band Hall Open for Practice After School until 4:30pm

Tuesday:  Lunchtime Leadership Meeting for Section Leader and Drum Major Candidates

6:00pm-7:00pm OHS and OJH Open House

7:00pm – Owl Band Booster Meeting

Wednesday: Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Performs at Band Hall 10am

Thursday: 6:30pm-8:30pm Carnegie Hall Rehearsal

Friday: Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Honor Band – Leave about 3pm or 4pm

depending on vehicles being available. Your student received a full schedule with

 their folder.
