Odem Bands Schedule Week of 2/6/2017
This week is going to be an abbreviated week for most of the activities for the Odem Bands. Mr. Williams, myself, and our two All-Staters (Noah Villarreal and Justin Ridgway) will be traveling to San Antonio Wednesday through Saturday for the Texas Music Educators Association Convention and the All-State Bands. I would like to invite you if you’re interested to see these two gentlemen’s performance on Saturday at 9am at the Lila Cockrell theater at the Convention Center. Admission is free for the concert. Between their concert and the next there will be a presentation to Noah Villarreal and the other Scholarship Recipients for ATSSB.
We will have our monthly Band Booster meeting Tuesday night at 7pm. We will take February payments for the trip as well as deposits. Additionally we will have some discussions on a major upcoming fundraiser we need to get off the ground.
Speaking of fundraisers, please have junior high band students bring their forms and money for the junior high fundraiser tomorrow (Monday). Mr. Williams had originally set Tuesday as the date, but due to a change in the benchmark dates we will not see band students on Tuesday to collect the forms/money. Please remember that all cash should be converted to checks/money orders prior to it being turned in. We do not accept cash in the band hall.
The next week we will have UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest in Robstown on Thursday the 16th. I hope we should have more specifics on times of performances by this coming weekend. All UIL events are open to the public, so you may come and see your students performance.
This Week’s Band Hall Schedule:
Monday: Band Hall Open until 4pm
JH Fundraiser due
Tuesday: Band Hall Open for practice until 6:00pm
Band Booster Meeting at 7pm
Wednesday-Friday: The Band Hall will be closed after school.
