Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 3/29/2021
First off, we would like to thank everyone for your support during our virtual Pre-UIL Concert on Monday evening. We had a full-house watching via Facebook Live, and appreciated that support! Our plan is to have in-person Spring Concerts in May, as well as Windi and Jazzi will be held that way as well.
We are still selling tickets for Windi and Jazzi online and through the Band Hall Office – the performance is Saturday, April 17th and features the Odem HS Band and a great meal! Due to the social distancing algorithm tickets are going pretty quickly, and I recommend getting your tickets this week if you are planning to attend. Please note that if we have one show sell out we will consider adding a second one – but would need to make that decision by next week if we are going to do so.
Spring Band Fees
Every band student in Grades 7-12 is assessed Spring Band Fee of $25.00/student. This fee helps us pay for our spring expenses and helps us maintain supplies like reeds, valve oil, sticks/mallets, instruments, and music through the spring each year. This year in particular, since we have provided every student a band mask and a bell cover, we need the funds that this fee generates to help close out our year.
This fee should be paid by Thursday, April 8th. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We will work with families if there are financial considerations, but need to collect this fee by then if at all possible. Payment should be made out by check or money order to OEISD, Memo: Band

Windi and Jazzi
Windi and Jazzi will take place on April 17th, this will be our first event with an audience indoors. Tickets are to be purchased online through http://odemhsband.ludus.com/ or they may be purchased through the band directors. The online software will automatically let you select your seats and blocks out seats around you for social distancing purposes. Each ticket includes Dinner (Fried Chicken or Steak), Live Music, and Dessert. We will also hold a silent auction that will be held online simultaneously for anyone who cannot attend. If we sell out of one performance too early, we may add a second performance. I would advise purchasing your tickets early!
We still need silent auction items. If you or your business can donate please contact Mrs. Mandi Edwards or Mrs. Laura Andrade!
Please note that traditionally Windi and Jazzi is the second biggest fundraiser of the year for the Owl Band Boosters. Those funds help the whole band program in Grades 6-12. It’s important that everyone help out by bringing at least one item for their basket!

May 17th: JH Symphonic Winds and HS Band Spring Concert
May 18th: JH Beginning Band and Concert Band Spring Concert
May 28th: Graduation
