Odem Bands Schedule Week of 3/5/2018 – UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest
Congratulations to the OHS Students who performed with the TAMUCC Islander Honor Band this weekend! Brandon Morin took the top Trombone chair for the group, and we had several other students who placed fairly high in their sections!
This week the Odem JH Symphonic Winds and the Odem HS Wind Ensemble will attend the Region UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest in Goliad. This is a major contest date for us and we look forward to the students performances. The event will take place at the Goliad HS Auditorium and Sight-Reading will be held in the Goliad HS Band Hall. There is no admission fee to attend and you may come to the Sight-Reading room with us. (Please Note: If you go to the sight-reading room with us NO PHOTOGRAPHY, NO AUDIO RECORDING, and NO VIDEOS are Allowed within that room)
Students should come to school dressed in their concert attire on Tuesday morning. All students should report directly to their Band Halls by 7:45am. (They may eat breakfast first and then come over).
Concert Attire JH:
Gentlemen: White Button Down Shirt, Black Slacks, Black Belt, Black Dress Shoes, Black Socks, and tie (Preferably solid Navy Blue)
Ladies: Black Blouse, Black Slacks, Black shoes.
Concert Attire OHS Students:
Gentlemen: Black Long Sleeve Button Down Shirt (with top button unbuttoned), Black Slacks, Long Black Socks, Black Dress Shoes.
Ladies: Black Blouse, Black Slacks, Black shoes. (All Black, no colors)
Itinerary for Tuesday:
7:45am: Students at Band Halls
8:50am: Depart Band Halls
9:50am: Arrive at Goliad HS
10:20am: Odem JH Symphonic Winds Warm-Up
11:00am: OJH Symphonic Winds Perform on Stage
11:30am: OJH Symphonic Winds Sight-Reading
12:00pm: Both Groups Eat Lunch
12:45pm: OJH Symphonic Winds Departs for Odem (Should arrive by 2pm)
2:05pm: OHS Wind Ensemble Warms Up
2:45pm: OHS Wind Ensemble Performs
3:15pm: OHS Wind Ensemble Sight-Reading
4:00pm: OHS Wind Ensemble Departs for Odem
~5:00pm: Arrive at OHS
