Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 3/6/2023
This is the final week before Spring Break, but we do have a few things to take note of. Odem Band Students Grades 6-12 will have a great opportunity tomorrow when the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Symphonic Winds comes to perform in our Cafetorium! Our students will be released to attend the performance and return to class during 5th Period or A Lunch for the HS students who have A Lunch. We’re looking forward to them having an opportunity to see a high level band performance without having to leave the campus!
Next we do have Windi and Jazzi coming up here soon. I have listed the basket information in the section below, but we ask every band student in Grades 6-12 to please bring one $10 item to put into the silent auction baskets for their section (HS) or grade for JH. The silent auction component of Windi and Jazzi tends to be the best performing part of our fundraiser. We will accept higher value donations as well, but if every student brings one $10 item in their theme we can create a series of great items to auction. We are also seeking out donations of gift cards from restaurants, other business donations, etc. if you work for a company that might be able to help support the bands there!
Windi and Jazzi tickets are on sale now! Our annual Dinner/Concert Fundraiser will be held on May 6th at 5:30pm in the Odem HS Cafetorium. This year’s theme is ‘Comedy Tonight,’ and will feature tributes to the slapstick eras of musical comedy! You may pre-purchase tickets here: http://odemhsband.ludus.com
Going into spring break, please help remind students to make sure they are taking care of their academics! We will have our April 22nd trip to San Antonio with the Odem JH Symphonic Winds and Odem HS Wind Ensemble which will be bound by Eligibility rules, as well as Windi and Jazzi for the HS Band Students in May. Those will both be based on this fifth six-weeks we have just begun!

Just a reminder the February Trip payments should have been made this month. Please make sure arrangements are either made to pay directly to Bob Rogers Travel through the website, or via check/money order to Owl Band Boosters and we’ll forward it onto them!
