Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 5/2/2022
Last weekend was a big jazz weekend for us, and it was great to be back performing with The Screeching Owl Jazz Band at the South Coast Jazz Festival! I would like to also congratulate our two students, Junior Emma Doria, and 7th Grader Shawn Williams, for outstanding performances as members of the All-Region Jazz Bands Saturday!
This week our main event is one of our biggest of the year, Windi and Jazzi! The event kicks off at 5:30pm in the HS Cafetorium on Saturday with our annual pops concert/dinner/silent-auction. We hope that everyone will come out and support this fundraiser! Students have a dress rehearsal after school from 3:30pm-5:30pm on Friday for the concert. All eligible HS Band students are required to perform for Windi and Jazzi, and will need to be at the rehearsal unless they make prior arrangements with us.
There will be a MANDATORY TRIP MEETING for HS students traveling to Florida, along with a parent on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7pm in the HS Cafetorium. We will go over trip rules, the final itinerary, packing information, and answer questions at that time.
For our HS Band Students attending the trip to Florida, there has been a price increase passed onto us at this time. It’s not the worst that it could be, but we are looking at the total moving to $950/student as opposed to $900 for the total we had priced the trip at. As of the last time I checked on the TMF portal this had not been corrected, but I did send out updated statements this week. Due to the Owl Band Booster Donation of $105/student, it means that their total contribution needs to be $845. We need this paid as soon as possible to be able to purchase tickets and finalize our trip. Please contact me if this is an issue so we can work out a solution!
Room lists were made and turned in, so we are on the hook for the full amounts at this time. At this time trip payments may be sent in a check/money order made out to TMF Tours and brought to Mr. Rash, or they may be paid directly through TMF Tours Website!
2022 Summer Band Schedule
You may find our 2022 Summer Band Schedule linked below, as well as listed our major competition dates for the fall at the bottom. Please note that Summer Band is mandatory for participation in The Spirit of OHS! If a conflict arises with a date we ask that you reach out to us early so we can be aware, and maybe make something work out to make multiple things happen. We try and be as flexible as possible on many things, but with marching band it is important to have every spot on the field covered. (Any missing members in drill can result in deductions for us as a band at contests!)
Please help us make sure students have the best possibility of being successful this next year!

Windi and Jazzi 2022
Tickets are now available for Windi and Jazzi that will be held Saturday here at this site: https://odemhsband.ludus.com/index.php This has become an annual dinner/concert to benefit the bands that we look forward to presenting each year! This year’s theme is ‘Night On Broadway’ and will feature music from a number of hit musicals, as well as some other works performed by the HS Band Students. This event benefits the Band Boosters and helps us raise funds program wide by ticket sales and the silent auction we hold simultaneously. We need to be selling tickets at this point. Please pass word onto friends/family about this great event. Tickets are purchased online through the link above or may be purchased from the Band Hall Office.
Tickets are $15-$25 per ticket depending on the seating type/location, and comes with a choice of Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken, Sides, a drink, and dessert along with the great entertainment! Please help us make this the best year yet for this event!
