Odem Bands Schedule Week of 5/2/2016

I hope this message finds you well as we enter the final month of school! As we move through May it is a busy month, so we ask for your help in getting the students to each of the events they’re responsible for.

Audition results should be posted after school tomorrow. Our audition process is one that we have used for many years now, and it’s benefited the students in our program a great deal. Please contact Mr. Williams or myself if you have any questions or concerns in regards to audition results.

The Odem JH Beginning Band will have their after school rehearsal to prepare for their concert after school on Thursday from 3:40pm-5pm. Please help ensure that students are picked up promptly at 5pm. This is a mandatory graded rehearsal and the only opportunity we will get to have all of the students rehearse together before their concert on May 10th.

The Owl Band Booster Meeting is being moved to Thursday night at 7pm in the Band Hall Choir Room. Please contact the President, Mr. Hammack with any questions you may have.

We will rehearse for Carnegie Hall on Thursday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Any students attending the trip that are not involved in playoff games are expected to be in attendance. Beginning next week I am anticipating that we will schedule rehearsals for Monday nights on the next several weeks. We will establish that for certain by Thursday.

There are a few parents who have not met with me in regards to the trip. I am available on Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment from 4pm-5:00pm. I can stay longer one evening if you contact me and make that arrangement. All forms should be turned in no later than Friday.

On Friday after school we will host Color Guard and Drum Major auditions. For students who are chosen we will need payments for camp/uniforms no later than May 20th. I will have the full amounts for both established by Friday to send home with accepted members.

Thursday, May 12th: OJH Symphonic Winds and OHS Bands Concert (Old HS Gym)

Thursday, May 19th: OHS Screeching Owl Jazz Band (Cafetorium)

Friday, May 27th: OHS Graduation (Odem HS Band and OJH Symphonic Winds)

Wednesday, June 8th: Carnegie Hall Preview/Send-Off Concert (Sinton HS Auditorium)

Saturday, June 11th: Odem HS Carnegie Hall Performance

Monday: Open until 5:00pm (Color Guard Practice)

Tuesday: Open until 5:00pm (Color Guard and Drum Major Practice)

Wednesday: Open until 5:00pm (Color Guard Practice)

Thursday: OJH Beginning Band Practice 3:40pm-5:00pm

Booster Meeting 7:00pm

Carnegie Hall Rehearsal 6:30pm-8:30pm

Friday: Color Guard and Drum Major Tryouts immediately after school
