Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 6/3/2024
First of all, we’d like to congratulate our 2024 State Silver Medalists! Vince Barrera, Benjamin Castañeda, and Eva Garcia all earned Silver Medals at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest! Our Woodwind Choir, Brass Choir, and Percussion Ensemble also earned Excellent Ratings at the contest! We are very proud of every student who advanced and performed!!!
This week is our Cleveland Trip, so the rest of the information will primarily focus on that. However, if your student is going to the Guard/Drum Major/Leadership Camp though, I do want to make sure you have completed the registration through TAMU-Commerce. If you didn’t receive the email to the parent email address, or are having issues with the registration, please email me (rashs AT oeisd.org). We will be departing about 4 am from Odem HS on Saturday, June 15th for TAMU-Commerce. We’ll return on Wednesday, June 19th about 3-4 pm. (I’ll send updates on this information after Cleveland)
Tomorrow students traveling to Cleveland need to be at the school by 4:30 pm. We will have a quick warm-up, then change into their Tuxes/Dresses if they’re not already dressed. We plan to take a couple of photos before the concert at 6 pm. Following the concert we will have a brief reception, and send everyone home to grab final luggage, get a chance to grab a bite to eat, and then we will begin checking students in at the Junior High Band Hall at 8:30 pm. ALL STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE BY 8:45 PM!
Students will be given their trip shirts when they check-in to place in their luggage and change into Tuesday’s shirt. We will then have the drug dog search bags before we load everything onto the trailer. Departure from the school will be about 1 am. We will post updates throughout our trip on the Owl Band Boosters Facebook Group, as well as you can follow the trip through the Bob Rogers App. We should arrive home about 8:30 pm on Sunday. (Please note it’ll be a process to return as we have to collect Tuxes, Dresses, tuners, instruments, etc. when we arrive!)
