Summer flew by quickly, and we’re at the first day of school already on Wednesday! For HS Band students we will be rehearsing 6:30-8:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. They’ve been making amazing progress, and are halfway through the show with music and drill! We’re most likely doing the same next week, as our goal is to finish the show next week at the latest! Please note that the following week, the week of 8/26, we will resume our typical school schedule of 6:30-8:30 Mondays and Thursdays, and 4-6pm on Wednesdays. (We adjust Wednesdays to 4-5:30 when students start having more church commitments)

We will have our monthly Owl Band Booster meeting on Tuesday evening in the HS Cafetorium. We ask that parents please consider getting involved and helping with the boosters! We will have letters with assigned days for concession stand volunteers at Meet the Band on Wednesday, August 21^st. Also, just to put it on the radar, we’ll be needing all students to have a parent or adult volunteer on their behalf to help with the Owl Marching Invitational on September 28^th, and the UIL Area 2A Marching Contest on November 2^nd. Please help us make plans for those! We’ll have a sign-up genius running for our invitational this weekend.

JH Band students in Concert Band and Symphonic Band will need their instruments at school on Thursday. For 6^th Grade Beginning Band students we will have an instrument drive on Wednesday, August 21^st from 4pm-7pm in the JH Band Hall for students to get any supplies and rentals completed. Hillje Music will be there that evening to help with that. More information on that will be discussed in class this week. Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Williams or myself on any additional questions on starting band with beginning band students!

Fees for high school band are due at this time. See the section below for more information on those. If they haven’t been turned in, please reach out to us so we know when to expect them. We’ll work with financial difficulties, and we can work to figure out a payment plan in those instances.

Fall Fees

Fall Band Fees info:

$80 All Returning Marchers Except Guard who don’t need shoes.
OR $125 (total) for Freshmen and Anyone who needs shoes

$580 in Total for Guard (Most paid only the $300 in May) Guard does not pay the other fees.

Please contact me if you have questions about fees or need to work out a payment plan. We work with families on these as much as we possibly can, but do need to get them in so we may order supplies for the marching season. We ONLY accept Check or Money Orders in the Band Hall – Please NO CASH!
