This week sees the official end of Summer Band rehearsals as school starts on Wednesday. Wednesday evening, we will hold our annual ‘Meet the Band’ night at 8pm at Owl Stadium. We encourage parents to come out and see what your students have been working on for the past few weeks! They truly have been working hard, and we look forward to presenting you a sneak peak of our 2023 marching show, ‘Pipe Dreams.’

Leading into that day we will rehearse from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Monday and Tuesday, as well as 6:30pm-8pm leading into the Meet the Band Event on Wednesday. Thursday there will be no rehearsal this week. Beginning the following week, we will begin our traditional Monday and Thursday night rehearsals from 6:30pm-8:30pm, and Wednesday 4pm-5:30pm. Please note that in a couple weeks we do maintain that schedule on the Labor Day evening as well, we ask that students please be back in town by then if you are taking any trips!

This week we need to have any remaining Fall Band Fees turned in please. We have major expenses with the cost of shorts/shirts/water jugs that we must cover with those fees. Please help us get those in this week! For returning HS Band members who have shoes that still fit and are in good condition, that fee is $75. For Freshmen/students who need new shoes that fee is $115 this year. The fees cover band shirts/shorts/water jugs/flip folders/lyres and a few other small things. If you have a freshman we do ask if you only paid the initially $75, that the remaining $40 be turned in next week. Please send a check or money order made out to OEISD as soon as possible. If there is a financial issue, we can work on a payment plan. Please reach out to us if that is an issue! We never want finances to be a reason that students do not do band!

Please remember that students need to have a large water jug (half-gallon size or bigger) especially for our evening rehearsals. (Our water jugs should be here very soon that we have one order)
