Odem Bands Schedule – Week of 8/30/2021
I hope this message finds you well as we enter the third week of school already! At the end of this week students will have Progress Report grades lock in for the first half of the six-weeks. If you don’t already have parent/student access to see students grades online you may contact the HS office for help with that. In particular we need all of our students to be passing in order to successfully compete this year at marching contest!
This past week we have made a lot of progress with the HS band in getting our show prepared. We have a lot of work to do and need every student at every rehearsal this week. Additionally, we have rehearsal on Monday, and are planning an extra one to take advantage of time allowed by UIL through Monday. We should also be able to get onto the new field in the next week or so, and hope to be able to get on the field on that day to rehearse. Please help us make sure students are present for those rehearsals.
Finally, we are going to be shorthanded this week, and need a number of parents to help with setup at Half-Time and loading up equipment following the students’ performance. We are going to try a new way of getting volunteers with Sign-Up Genius. Please visit this link: https://tinyurl.com/ynt5hczk to sign up! We need about twelve volunteers during each half-time performance from parents. This past week we took too long to setup and need to cut down on that time especially since we haven’t put all of our equipment on the field yet. The only way we’ll be able to do that is with some parents helping. If you can help for one or more weeks please go sign-up! I’ve attached spots through our game on October 1st for now. We will need help on Contest Days as well. Please help us fill these slots so students may have a successful season!
