This week is the final week before school starts! We had a fantastic week of work this last week, and our students accomplished a lot! Our March-A-Thon raised just short of $1,000 this week, and we appreciate all of the community support for the band! Thursday evening, we set our entire first song of drill on the field, and Saturday four of our flute students participated in a Student Flute Day at the National Flute Association convention, ending in a performance with nearly 400 flute players! It’s been a great start to our year!

This week due to teacher in-service and schedules that need to change around them, we’ll be adjusting our schedule. Each day will be 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm inside music, and 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm outside marching. We know there will be some overlap in particular with football during the earlier rehearsal time – students should go to their athletic practice as scheduled whenever that happens, and we’ll catch them in the evening. We firmly believe one of the greatest strengths of our program is that Odem Owls Do it All! 

Overall, this week we have set the goal of playing and marching through our first song tomorrow night, reviewing Tuesday, and setting the 2^nd song on the field Wednesday and Thursday evening. It’s imperative that students are at the rehearsals so they don’t get too far behind!

Fees for band were due last week. See the section below for more information on those. If they haven’t been turned in, please reach out to us so we know when to expect them. We’ll work with financial difficulties, and we can work to figure out a payment plan in those instances.

Fall Fees

Fall Band Fees info:

$80 All Returning Marchers Except Guard who don’t need shoes.
OR $125 (total) for Freshmen and Anyone who needs shoes

$580 in Total for Guard (Most paid only the $300 in May) Guard does not pay the other fees.

Please contact me if you have questions about fees or need to work out a payment plan. We work with families on these as much as we possibly can, but do need to get them in so we may order supplies for the marching season. We ONLY accept Check or Money Orders in the Band Hall – Please NO CASH!
